Journalists' use of social media for research increases, but traditional media are still seen as more reliable
With all the buzz around social media, it’s no surprise that blogs and social networking sites are now viewed as important research sources by a majority of journalists, according to a new survey conducted by Cision and George Washington University.
The survey of print and web journalists contains good news for the public relations industry. Large numbers think PR provides critical services and perspectives that social media can’t, and many say they are now using PR professionals and press releases for story development more than they have in the past.
